Kim Koch, PE

Kim Koch is Insight's Founder and Principal. She is a registered Professional Engineer and USGBC LEED Accredited Professional with more than 15 years of experience in mechanical systems design, project management, and company leadership. Kim has managed and designed projects in K-12, higher education, healthcare, and commercial market sectors. She has worked on all types of mechanical systems, from ground-source heat pumps to complex district energy systems, bringing a wealth of technical expertise to her work.

Kim's career has been spent building passionate and hardworking teams who are driven to experiment and innovate to find the best solution. At Insight, she is continually inspired by her colleagues and clients to do just that. Her vision for the firm is to bring cost-effective, functional solutions that improve Arkansas's communities.

Part of realizing this vision is growing awareness of engineering as a career and inspiring young people to join the field. Kim currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Arkansas STEM Coalition and the Board of Directors for studioMAIN. She is active in the Arkansas Chapter of the American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and serves as a member of the Arkansas HVAC/R Board.

Kim works hard, but rest assured, she also knows how to have fun. She especially enjoys being outdoors with her two kids, kayaking, exploring caves, or boating on Lake Hamilton. Kim is also a connoisseur of Little Rock's food scene and loves to try new local restaurants and share the best dishes with her friends and family.
