Electrical Designer

Insight Engineering is currently looking for an experienced Electrical Designer to join our team!  Primary focus includes electrical design, low-voltage, and fire alarm systems for architectural or owner-direct projects in the MEPF environment.  Project building types include commercial, government, healthcare, and educational. This position focuses on solid technical engineering experience and is ideal for an Electrical Designer looking to join a team whose vision is to bring efficient and elegant design to the communities in Arkansas where we live, work, and play. Requirements and Responsibilities

Responsible for engineering and design activities including working directly with other engineers and designers to produce engineering documents and designs


Review designs and drawings for accuracy and code compliance


Coordinate with all disciplines including Architectural, Mechanical, Structural, Fire-Systems, Plumbing, and/or contractors, to ensure that the project designs are effectively integrated for each project.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 2+ years of building electrical and lighting design experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering at ABET-accredited school

  • Engineering Intern PE Eligible

  • Working knowledge using Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit

  • Strong knowledge of electrical, building, and energy codes

  • Strong technical, written, and oral communication skills

  • Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment

  • Able and interested in performing work in the field and to travel outside local area, as necessary

  • Able to prepare construction drawings and specifications

  • Able to perform survey and inspection work relative to project design
